Name: Akika Mido (Akika Sohma)
Age: 5
Zodiac Sign: Um... Has to be none, right? xD;
Gender: Female
Appearance:(I don't mind if you just put a picture up, must be at least be from the waist up)
Long, blue straight hair and purple, dark round eyes. She is usually wearing her onepiece green shirt. She can also be seen in her school uniform (white shirt, pink ribbon around neck, black strap-on skirt) which Akito has gotten for her. She goes to a private school. On new years and a few days before, she can also be seen in a Miko outfit. She is the priestess that is responsible for doing a few dances and summons on New Years hoping for a new great year. The maids dress her up for this. Her hair is always down and straight, never anything else except maybe a very rare case of having braids and a few bells on her side bangs. She also is only about the size of a two or three year old.
Personality:
Still being a child, Akika thinks and says straight foward the truth. From this, she has gotten in lots of trouble for telling some people about the Sohma curse. Akika is often just lonely and is begging for attention and to see the outside world away from the Sohma gates. If done so, however, she gets in trouble from her parents. Therefore, Akika is always seen bound inside the Sohma estate. She dislikes water and somehow has a deep haterd for the curse of the cat, Kyo. She loves strawberries and cookies and attention. Akika also loves to draw. She is scared of time.
Bonds: (all the bonds your character has)
Akito Sohma - Akika cannot really understand whether she likes the head of the family or not. She gets very scared when Akito gets even a little annoyed, but often tries to be friends with her by offering sweets.
Isuzu Sohma - Isuzu is like a big sister to Akika. Although Isuzu ignores her most of the time, Akika always stays by her side and follows her around.
Her Family - Akika's family includes her adoptive mother and father, and her non-related baby brother, Kiseo. Her adoptive parents basically lack in providing her the needs to live, so in order to survive she gets all the needs from Akito. Kiseo is just a baby who twisted Akika's life around, but they are very nice to each other.
History:
(since we can't have our characters cursed):
The Sohma's miko gene has been passed down for several generations along with the Sohma Zodiac Curse. The miko child can be identified by having troubles talking properly and tend to have blue hair. They are also very short compared to people of their age. When they reach the age of ten, they are to be disposed of; they cannot be allowed to start having their own education to know how to live on their own. Parents with the Sohma's miko shall have one more child biologically in order to keep the genes going for the miko (The non-miko child will have the gene, but will not have to die at the age of ten. When twins, only one child should be carrying the gene; usually can be easily determined by the size and hair color. The non-miko child must again produce two more children, since one would be another miko). When the last miko child was killed from reaching age of ten, Akika was born.
Akika’s biological parents were Sohma teenagers, and she never met her father before. She lived with her mother for two years until her mother had a miscarriage for a second child and died from the stress of blaming herself. Akika was then brought to her neighbor’s house and lived there under another teenager’s (14 year old) care, but she got killed when Akika was four. From the beginning of her fourth year of life, she faced neglect, physical and mental, as well as sexual abuse from the teenager’s father. A few months later, the abuser was arrested, and Akika was brought to the main house. She lived with the maids taking care of her. Akito also took a bit into Akika’s life from then, figuring she was a miko, and started making her practice daily for the dance for the New Year’s. After a few weeks living in the main house, she was adopted into yet another family, the Mido family, because they needed a child to take over the family name and they couldn’t have a child no matter how hard they tried for several years. But as soon as Akika was adopted into the family, the mother’s pregnancy was figured, and the Mido family started treating Akika badly, since they don’t have a reason to keep her anymore. Akika goes back and forth from the Mido family to the Sohma family, getting all her needs from the Sohma house and sleeping in the Mido house. Also, since the gene cannot be passed on, due to the fact that Akika was an only child and the mother died without making another one to pass the gene on, it is thought now that Akika might be the last miko the Sohmas would ever have.
Example Role Play:
“Aki too tired…” Akika complained as she was dressed in her priestess outfit. Her pale cheeks puffed out slightly in anger and stress. The maids laughed lightly as they started to tie her outfit tightly to make sure it won’t fall off the overly-skinny girl. Another maid started braiding her side bangs that covered her ears. She put bells at the very end as a hair tie, and everytime Akika moved her head ever so slightly, the bells rung a beautiful harmony. As Akika was handed the staff to dance along with like she has for the past month practicing, she sighed softly. The maids smiled encouragely at her and mumbled to eachother, “She’s so cute” and “Aww…”. Some even thought of her as their very own grandchild, and started to pat her head and give her small candy. The drums then started, and Akika jumped. It was time for her dance show. She bowed slightly and held tightly onto her very heavy staff, then walked out. The maids bowed back, all smiling, taken up by her innocence.
As Akika walked out from the curtains, claps were heard. Akika glanced down to the head of the family and gulped on stage. Under the strict eye from Akito, she started to dance along with the calm music. Sweat rolled down her cheek as she lifted and swung the staff around carefully, letting her bells ring along with the song. Her purple eyes narrowed as she felt her arms ready to give out any second, and it was only half way through the song. The five year old then took a deep breath before continuing, twirling around in her red and white miko dress.
Her legs gave out suddenly towards the end of the song. Everyone, even the people who didn’t watch her during the practice, noticed it was a mistake. The legs that gave out forced Akika onto the stage floor, whimpering. She breathed heavily as she slowly pushed herself back up. She could feel the stares from both the room and from behind and beside the curtains. Putting a bright smile on her face, Akika started again, catching up on what she missed. Her legs ached. Her arms felt as if they were carrying a huge rock for construction, when right before her was just a huge staff.
After the song finally ended, Akika took a moment to catch her breath. As soon as she heard even the slightest clapping, the five year old bowed, sweat still dropping onto the floor. Outside was middle of the winter, but inside the building was like an oven now. After bowing, she slowly walked back to behind the curtains, and collapsed. The maids all rushed to her and sighed in relief when they noticed it wasn’t such a big deal, that Akika was just extremely tired. The song was fifteen minutes, the staff was twenty pounds, more than half of Akika’s weight. Her miko outfit also added another three to five pounds onto her; no one could blame her now that she collapsed. As Akika was taken up to the resting room, she was placed on a bed, where she slept for most of the banquet. She couldn’t enter anyway. Though, at the very end, she was awoken once again; this time to wash off the curse’s evil feelings and hatred towards the God.
Akika, this time not having to bring a staff, slowly reached up to each of the zodiac members, rubbing their heads and smiling. She moved her hand in a circular motion three times to the left, two times to the right, then once more to the left. Then it was over. It was Akika’s favorite part in all her jobs, didn’t take much to practice. Now the banquet was over. Akika was dressed back into her normal outfit and she returned home to go to bed. Now it was to wait till next year to be done again, until she reaches the age of ten.
