Name: Kyo Sohma
Age: 16-17
Zodiac Sign: The Cat <3
Gender: Male
Appearance:
v Him v
v Him as a cat v
v Him as a kawaii child ^^ v
Personality: Kyo Sohma has a very fiery temper which is easily set off by Yuki. He is always trying to beat Yuki for a reason that is later found out about in the books. Though Kyo is usually very mean and isn’t afraid to pick a fight with someone xD He has a soft spot for Tohru as the series processes. [Yeah it’s short. But that’s because I’ve been typing up the history for a COUPLE OF DAYS xD And just finished it now. (actually I took about a 5 hour break in between)]
Bonds: (all the bonds your character has)
Tohru Honda-The first time that Kyo meets Tohru, Tohru found out about the Sohma’s family secret. At first it seems that Kyo truly dislikes Tohru, and in one episode of the English dubbed anime, after Tohru accidentally causes him to transform he angrily yells at her saying “Just stay the heck away from me!” and in chapter 3 of the manga, he says “Would you shut up?! I don’t care if I get in trouble, as long as I beat Yuki! Stay out of my way! What’s with you?! I CAN’T EVEN STAND TO LOOK AT YOU!!” Which he later apologizes about it in the woods (Where he also gets hit by Tohru’s bag when she confuses him for a stalker.) [I’ll say more about him and Tohru in the history with her]. After a while, he, like Yuki, seems to be ‘drawn’ to her kind heart and gentle demeanor.
Yuki Sohma-Yuki and Kyo are like a mongoose and a snake. They are born enemies of each other, though Kyo is normally the one who starts the fights, but every single time he is defeated by Yuki each and every time they fight.
Momiji Sohma- Well Momiji and Kyo are neither friends nor enemies, but Kyo is mostly annoyed by Momiji, and ends up hitting him on the head causing Momiji to cry out, “Waaaahh, Kyo’s hitting me” much to Kyo’s annoyance.
Kazuma Sohma- Kazuma is the one who is like a father figure to Kyo after his real father abandoned him. Kyo learned martial arts from Kazuma so calls him Shisho. Kyo lived with Kazuma until he sent him to live with Shigure.
Kagura Sohma- Much to Kyo annoyance Kagura seems to always wanting him to hang out with her. Kagura tries to force her love onto Kyo which seems to be just because she felt pity on him after seeing him transform when she took off his beads once interested in seeing them. Kagura seemed to hate Tohru at first which caused Kyo to get quite angry with her. Later on in the series Kyo tells Kagura that he has someone else he loves and can’t be with her, or somewhere along those lines.
History:
[Like I did with Rin’s history I’ll do a couple different parts for the history. One his past as a kid and what his parents though of him along with his past with Tohru, Kyoko Honda, Kazuma, and later on Kagura.]
[w/ Tohru Honda]
Like I said before in the Bonds, when Kyo first met Tohru it was the time that she found out about the curse and at first it seems that he truly dislikes her, yelling at her a couple times when she caused him to transform, though after a while of her living in their house he seems drawn to her kind personality. One time when Tohru was sick, Kyo found out that Leeks could be used to help, so he made leeks for her even though he despises the taste and smell of them.
After a while of her being with Tohru it seems that Kyo truly falls in love with Tohru. Since I know that not everyone has read any farther in the book I won’t say anything else about her bond and just keep it at this for the rping.
[I’m surprised that her past was pretty short xD I guess I just am to lazy to do much with her[
[w/ Kyoko Honda]
As found out later in the Fruits Basket series you find out that Kyo had met Tohru’s mother and knew the story about her birth. He use to talk to Kyoko’s mom a lot, but he never gave her his name so she made up a name for him by herself [Which I forgot what it was.] One time when Tohru goes missing one time he gets worried and goes out looking for her, he never finds her, but when he goes back he discovers that Tohru was found, when he sees the hat that Tohru was wearing he gets mad. The hat was the same one that Yuki had gotten when Kyo had said that he didn’t want it anymore because Yuki had touched it. He knew that Yuki had found her and brought her back.
There is one point in his relationship with Kyoko that he stops talking to her, but later on in the manga it shows that he saw Kyoko the day that she died, he told Tohru how if he had just grabbed her arm she wouldn’t have gotten hit, but he was worried about transforming into that he didn’t. When he saw her he heard her say “I won’t forgive you.” He thought that she meant that she wouldn’t forgive him for what he had done when he first left her, but really she just meant something else [again I forgot what she meant]. So he blamed himself for her death and his mothers.
[w/ Yuki Sohma]
The first time that Kyo saw Yuki was outside the main house during the winter. [I’m going to do a whole set of quotes from book 15 between Kyo and Yuki just in a sec.] Yuki had heard some of the parents talking about the cat so he went outside to look and when he saw him Yuki though “It’s so…pretty, that pretty orange.” He then says “um…” Kyo is the first one who actually speaks “You. You’re the rat, huh?” In which Yuki responds “Oh. Um, yes.” This is one part that makes me a little sad because of the smile that Yuki has on his face before Kyo says “I’ll never…forgive you. Do you hear me? I’ll never never forgive you! It’s all your fault, rat! Everything’s your fault! It’s all because you exist! Someone as rotten as you…oughta do us all a favor and just disappear.” Kyo then runs off leaving Yuki near tears at what he had said.
Kyo and Yuki then meet again later on when Kyo is with Kazuma and his hat flies off. Yuki sees it and picks it up, when he holds it up to give it to Kyo, Kyo just glares at him and turns around and runs back to Kazuma. :’( I actually feel really sorry for Yuki in this part.
[w/ Kazuma Sohma (aka Shishō)]
Kazuma took care of Kyo after Kyo’s father rejected him, Kazuma accepted the responsibility due to guilt over previous wrongs he had done to his grandfather, who had been the previous person possessed by the spirit of the cat, and because he was the only one who had any inkling of what Kyo was going through. Kazuma once talked about the “old Kyo” who used to blame all his problem on others, but Kyo is now able to face them. Kyo learned martial arts from Kazuma, calling him Shishō. Kyo also saw Kazuma as a sort of father to him. As Kyo grew older, he started getting into trouble, but he despised that others thought there was something unnatural with Kazuma for raising him, because of this, Kyo lied and claimed that Kazuma wasn’t his father, as he didn’t want Kazuma to be hurt by his cursed existence. When Kazuma heard Kyo’s declaration, he distanced himself because he didn’t wish to force his feelings upon Kyo. Though, eventually, the misunderstanding was resolved with Kyo’s transformation.
[w/ Kagura]
I’ll do Kaguras when I figure out a little bit more of them
[History as a Young Kid]
Even as a kid Kyo was left out of everything including the banquets that were held in the main house, he was left out of everything. His mother was tramatized by the fact that he was born that cat and also was the one who’s true form was something like that ‘monster’ as you will see if you’ve seen the whole anime series. His mother committed suicide by walking in front of an oncoming train. Everyone including his father blamed him for it. Everyone passed the suicide off as an accident but Kyo was brought up being blamed for the death, after hearing this for so long Kyo actually started to believe it was his fault.
When Kyo was around four to six years old his father abandoned him. Thus Kazuma took him in to take care of him. Throughout most of his school years, though, Kyo is picked on because of the color of his hair, which is around the same time his temper begins.
